4 Corners Promotions presents new artist Alecia Cowan. She extends her writing beyond poetry and into songs, remembering her roots and her deep love of reggae music.
In 2007 Alecia connected with long time friend Hopeton Hibbert, the bassist from legendary reggae band Morgan Heritage, who then produced Alecia’s first single release ‘Time Waits on No Man’. The song was included on a CD compilation called “Breaktime Rhythm” on the Road Dog Productions label. This put her alongside some great singers of reggae music such as King Yellowman, Richie Stephens and Systa Irie. Alecia is currently working towards her full length debut album. With a collection of 85 unreleased songs and counting, she will have plenty of original material to choose from. Alecia’s singing style expresses the wisdom of an old soul with a bubbling youthful exuberance. She has been compared to the likes of Carol Thompson, Marcia Griffiths and Tanya Stephens.
